I am an avid crafter. Right now my passion is card making, knitting, and making quilt tops. It is very difficult for my hands to be idle for very long. I am very much like my mother in that way. You know "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, I am my mother after all.

My first Flip Card and using my Cricut
This is actually my second attempt - the first went into the garbage. I am not totally happy with this one either, but it works. I think the one thing I have learned is to always have replacement blades for my paper cutter. This image was from Crafting with Sue and when I saw it, I knew it was the inspiration I needed for an anniversary card for my step-son and his wife. He proposed to her on the beach in Florida. I have attached a picture someone took of them that evening. I made up the sentiment on the front myself, but found the "Crazy in Love" sentiment from Ginger's House.

Marla, great card for your stepson, your beach digi is so relaxing, they will both love the card. I will have to try the flip card have not done one of those yet. I did look around your blog from work last night just hate to sign into blogger from there.
ReplyDeletewow Marla, this card turned out fabulous! I don't know why you aren't over the moon happy with it. I just love blue and white as a color scheme and it's so perfect for a card that has water on it. You colored that image beautifully. I have that image and am now thinking I might have to do something with it lol. Thanks for sharing your wonderful creation with us.
ReplyDeleteMarla, your card was well worth the wait as it truly is gorgeous. I adore the colour theme of the blue and white and all the wording on it is perfect for anyone celebrating. I like how you've picked out the colours of the kids clothing and used them in that amazing and relaxing beach digi. I can't see anywhere in the card any signs of a blunt cutting blade but it maybe that it was in the actually cutting out stage that the trouble occurred. I'm sure your step-son and his partner are going to be over the moon with your amazing card and it's sure to bring back many happy memories for them both. Thanks so much for sharing it and I'm going to have to go and check out how to make a flip card. *Friendship and Hugs*
ReplyDeleteGreat card Maria, keep meaning to give this type a go! Looks very good to me!
